First GAbridge journal club report, 24.10.2024.

 

The first GAbridge project journal club meeting took place on Thursday, October 24th, discussing the paper "The Genomic Legacy of Human Management and sex-biased Aurochs hybridization in Iberian Cattle" (Gunther et al., 2024). The meeting was very productive and all members of the research group participated, giving their own suggestions and comments on the paper. Among the more important conclusions and topics were the importance of choosing good databases for the analysis of experimental results and, especially important for the project, the issue of determining and/or distinguishing closely related species when morphological analysis fails to give a clear answer.
