Report of the third JC, project GAbridge, held on November 21st, 2024

 

The third journal club meeting of the Angen group, second as part of the GAbridge project, took place on Thursday, November 21st, 2024. The topic was the paper "Evaluating the Efficacy of Target Capture Sequencing for Genotyping in Cattle" (Ren et al., 2024). We discussed the sequencing method, application possibilities for aDNA (target capture sequencing - TCS), and the issue of choosing a reference genome in view of recent advances and changes in the reference cattle genome, especially in the autosomal region of the X chromosome.
