Report of the third GAbridge project journal club, held on December 6th, 2024

 

The fourth Angen group journal club meeting, the third one within the GAbridge project, took place on Friday, December 6th. The meeting topic was the paper "The genomic natural history of the aurochs" (Rossi et al., 2024) link. The paper produced an excellent discussion on fundamental issues of domestication, such as the rate at which domestication spreads. The group unanimously agrees on the pursuit of illuminating the role and importance of the Balkan route, as well as the issue of discerning the significance of the evolutionary history of the mitochondrial Q haplogroup.
