Report of the eight JC of 07/08/2025, the PhenoGeno project

The eighth meeting of the Journal Club was held on Tuesday, July 8. The topic of the meeting was the paper "Re-sequencing of the casein genes in Swedish Red cattle giving milk with diverse protein profiles and extreme rennet coagulation properties" (Lewerentz et al., 2024), which was presented by colleague Zvonimir Mijadžiković. The discussion was dynamic and natural, with a number of constructive comments and questions that will be useful for further research on polymorphisms within the animal genome, especially in the casein gene region.
