Report from ISAG2025, Daejeon, South Korea, July 20th to 25th, 2025
The 2025 ISAG conference, organized by the International Society for Animal Genetics, was held in Daejeon, South Korea, from July 20th to 25th. Professor Vlatka Čubrić Čurik gave an oral presentation "Genomic Insights into Cattle Domestication and Aurochs Legacy in the Balkans", in which she presented the previous knowledge and hypotheses about the path of Neolithicization in Europe and the genetic legacy of aurochs in modern cattle, the GAbridge project itself and the preliminary results of DNA analysis from Neolithic sites in Istria. Assistant professor Vladimir Brajković had a poster presentation "Tracing cattle dispersal through time: meta-analysis of mitogenome haplogroups and their global phylogeography" in which he presented a meta-analysis of mitogenome haplogroups of ancient and modern cattle and their phylogeography.
