Report of the twelfth GAbridge project journal club, November 18th, 2025

 

The twelfth GAbridge journal club took place on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025. PhD student Ivana Keršić presented the paper "Inferring Domestic Goat Demographic History Through Ancient Genome Imputation" (Erven et al., 2025). The work is important to our research group because it describes, in detail, the imputation pipeline on ancient genomes of a domestic animal (goat in this instance), a method that we wish to implement in our work with ancient sequences. The influence of individual parameters was discussed and which approach would be best for our needs, and the importance of compiling a high-quality reference data set - in this case, a validation data set for imputation - was highlighted once more. From the paper, we concluded that for future work we will need to use the GLIMPSE program for imputation and which parameter values ​​would be best to use for analysis with the program.
