Report of the fourteenth GAbridge project journal club, January 27th, 2026

 

The fourteenth Gabridge journal club took place on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026. Professor Maja Ferenčaković presented a paper that the research group is well famial with, but focused exclusively on the methods and analszes carried out in the paper "The genomic natural history of the aurochs" (Rossi et al., 2024). Such a focused discussion on the methods allowed us to notice the mistakes we had in our previous approaches and past analysis protocols, along with new ideas and specific measures to improve the ancient DNA analysis pipeline as presented in the analysed paper.
